What is an AA Meeting?
An AA Meeting is a place to share experiences and success stories with other alcoholics. This is a safe place for a person seeking sobriety to come in and ask for help. These meetings in Shakopee, Minnesota will help them build a support network to help achieve sobriety. You will be welcomed by your peers that have all lived and survived from alcoholism. Their survival of maintaining this state is reliant on helping others and giving back to others the gift that was given to them.
How to Choose an AA Meeting in Shakopee, Minnesota
It is important when coming to AA that you select a meeting that is best for where you are at in sobriety. The 1st type of AA meeting is a new comers meeting and is not limited to only new comers but is a meeting that motivates them to speak their truth and reach out for help. Another type of meeting would be a single gender meeting, which is only open to either men or women. A Closed meeting simply means the group is solely focused on conversations regarding how to stay sober from alcohol. Talking about any other drugs is not allowed. A Step Study is a gathering that is simply a specific step and spoken about in length regarding the best approach to working this step and applying it to your daily life. Traditions meetings are based off the 12 traditions of AA. The 12 traditions are not the same as the 12 steps. The traditions were established to maintain order throughout AA and maintaining accountability to these traditions is why you can walk into an AA Meeting anywhere in across the globe to hear the same message.
