What is an AA Meeting?
A meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous is a place to share experiences and success stories with other alcoholics. This is a safe place for an alcoholic seeking sobriety to come in and ask for help. These meetings in Larkspur, California will help them build a support network to help achieve sobriety. You will be invited in by your peers that have all lived and survived from addiction. Their survival of maintaining this state is reliant on helping others and giving back to others the guidance that they received.
How to Choose an AA Meeting in Larkspur, California
It is important when coming to AA that you pick a meeting that is best for where you are at in sobriety. The first type of meeting is a new comers meeting and is not only for new comers but is a meeting that encourages them to share their stories and reach out for help. The second type of meeting would be a gender specific meeting, which is only open to one gender. A Closed meeting simply means the group is closed to any discussion that does not involve how to maintain sobriety from alcohol. Talking about any other substance use addictions is not allowed. A Step Study is a meeting that is simply focused on a single step and discussed in length regarding the best approach to working this step and applying it to your daily life. Traditions meetings revolve around the 12 traditions of AA. The 12 traditions are different than the 12 steps. The traditions were established to maintain order throughout AA and holding each group accountable to these traditions is the reason you can join a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous anywhere in the world to hear the same message.
How to Get The Most From an AA Meeting in Larkspur, California
