What is an AA Meeting?
A meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous is an assembly where alcoholics and people who struggle with substance abuse gather for one hour to share their experience, strength, and hope. AA Members who attend an Alcoholic’s Anonymous meeting in Kirklin, Indiana will share their experience getting sober through their personal anecdotes with anyone looking to get sober. There is no religious, social or economic association for membership, just the yearn to stop drinking, and live a productive life without alcohol.
How to Choose an AA Meeting in Kirklin, Indiana
It is important when coming to AA that you select a meeting that is suited for where you are at in sobriety. The 1st type of Alcoholics Anonymous meeting is a new comers meeting and is not limited to only new comers but is a meeting that motivates members to speak their truth and reach out for help. The second type of meeting would be a gender specific meeting, which is only open to one gender. A Closed meeting simply means the group is closed to any discussion that does not involve how to stay sober from alcohol. Talking about any other illicit substances is not allowed. A Step Study is a gathering that is simply focused on a single step and discussed in length regarding the best approach to working this step and applying it to your daily life. Traditions meetings are based off the 12 traditions of AA. Not to be confused with the 12 steps. The traditions are built to maintain order throughout AA and maintaining accountability to these traditions is why you can walk into a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous anywhere in across the globe to hear the same message.
How to Get The Most From an AA Meeting in Kirklin, Indiana
The members who benefit the most from AA have found success through getting involved in the program. For addicts who are attending their first AA meeting and really want to get sober, we suggest following the suggestions of the AA members that have successfully stayed sober for sometime.
