What is an AA Meeting?
An AA Meeting is a place to share experiences and success stories with other alcoholics. This is a safe place for a person seeking sobriety to come in and ask for help. These meetings in Carthage, Indiana will help them build a support network to help achieve sobriety. You will be invited in by your peers that have all lived and survived from addiction. Their survival of maintaining their sobriety is dependent on helping others and giving back to others the support that was given to them.
How to Choose an AA Meeting in Carthage, Indiana
It is important when coming to AA that you choose a meeting that is suited for where you are at in sobriety. The 1st type of meeting is a new comers meeting and is not solely for new comers but is a meeting that encourages them to share their stories and reach out for help. Another type of meeting would be a single gender meeting, which is only open to one gender. A Closed meeting simply means the group is closed to any discussion that does not involve how to maintain sobriety from alcohol. Talking about any other drugs is not allowed. A Step Study is a meeting that is simply focused on a single step and spoken about in length regarding the best approach to working this step and applying it to your daily life. Traditions meetings are based off the 12 traditions of AA. Not to be confused with the 12 steps. The traditions were implemented to maintain order throughout AA and holding each group accountable to these traditions is the reason you can join a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous anywhere in across the globe to hear the same message.
